The Fueled by Silence story begins in the mid 90's when Jr. and Billy started playing in a band together called Cajun Anger. Aptly named for their heavy southern style of metal. It was in this band that they started a friendship and musical re pore that still stands today. Fast forward a few years and after going their separate ways musically they find themselves once again. This time Southbound is the band. Still a southern sound, with just a touch of gloom, but with bands like C.O.C and Black Sabbath as major influences, what would you expect. After Southbound split Jr. stayed on the scene in several bands including Burnside 6, Break & Peroxwhy?gen. Billy being aggravated with the music scene all but disappeared. Until he joined a band called The Allknowing. This is where he met Shawn Harford(drums) and what would be the foundation of Fueled by Silence was born. While brutalizing the scene in The Allknowing Billy and Shawn would eventually meet Dale(bass), who was in a band called Death Broker at the time.
After the break up of The Allknowing, Billy decided to call Jr. After talking for a while they decided they would get together and start writing some songs together & see what happened. After getting a few ideas together it was time to find the rest of the band. Immediately Billy suggested Shawn to play drums. With one phone call Shawn was on board. So the three of them (Jr., Billy,and Shawn) played in the basement for months getting songs together which spawned such songs as Confused Again, No Time and Lessons Learned. After writing those songs they knew they had something to build on. With Dale on the fence the three continued for a few more weeks of writing. Still with no bass player Dale came over to hear the new songs & joined the (FbS) crew. Finally with the band complete and a common vision, Fueled by Silence is sure to make waves in the near future.
